Full-time position in Psychology and Biology grades 9-12. Experience and certification preferred. Medical & 403(b) plan included. IRCHS is a small, non-traditional charter high school with a mission to develop character, citizenship, cultural awareness, and academic excellence. We offer a comprehensive Visual and Performing Arts program; honors, dual-enrollment, and advanced placement coursework; high expectations for student behavior; and a unique, innovative thematic curriculum.
Currently, IRCHS is rated an “A” school by Florida’s School Rating System and has been the highest-rated high school in Indian River County for the past 18 years. Students accept a great deal of responsibility within the school environment, from the open campus to Homebase expectations, and participation in community projects such as; cultural events, government meetings, and volunteer activities. Each student is expected to follow a 7 point behavior contract in order to remain a student. IRCHS participates in random drug testing for all students, staff, and board members.
The instructor should hold a B.A. (and/or M.A.) in Science, Social Science, or Science/Social Science Education; maintain an ability to present a rigorous course of study, have familiarity with Sunshine State Standards, Psychology and Biology experience a plus; offer a creative, innovative presentation style.
