Must hold a certificate issued by any agency.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Administrative Assistant, Business Manager, Computer/Information Technology, Facilities/Groundskeeping, Finance, Food Services, Legal Affairs, Transportation, Admissions/Registrar, Counselor/Guidance, Financial Aid, Minority/Multicultural Affairs, Pupil Personnel Workers, Residence Life, School Liaison Officer, School Nurse, Social Worker, Truancy Officer.
School security guard will monitor the flow of people and employees and respond in emergency situations. Guards must know and enforce rules and regulations to prevent criminal activity before it happens. They may monitor points of access in a building or property to allow entry only to individuals with the correct identification or authorization. In some situations, such as public events or crowded areas, they walk among visitors to promote order and provide a visible presence that deters safety issues. At times, directs driveline, assists students in leaving and entering vehicle, observes and reports or remedies unsafe or problem situations; responds to fire and other emergencies; acts to prevent theft and property damage; monitors and regulates student behavior on campus, in cafeterias, restrooms and other open locations; deters student loitering. Service to ensure safety and physical well-being of persons at school, performs related duties as assigned.
