Curriculum Support Specialist-Mathematics (#320349)
BridgePrep Academy of Orange is looking for experienced Curriculum Support Specialist in Mathematics for our K-8 charter school in Orlando, FL for the 2017-2018 school year.
Description and Goals:
The CSS is a master teacher of mathematics who works collaboratively with KG -7th grade staff to improve mathematics instruction. The focus of the CSS is to develop a teacher-centered system of support that facilitates the transfer of scientifically based mathematics research into classroom practice. The goal of the CSS is to build capacity in the use of effective mathematics instruction by providing ongoing coaching, demonstration teaching, content knowledge, and prescriptive intervention strategies.
The CSS will work directly with teachers by modeling best practice lessons of instruction that builds students’ sense of engagement in the ownership of learning; provide ongoing staff development, work collaborative with teachers and offer one-on-one support. The CSS will also work with administrators and teachers to collect and analyze data, interpret, and use it to guide instructional decisions
Responsibilities: 1. Support teachers to collect and analyze data to develop action plans in response to determined student needs and data based instruction. 2. Provide individualized, classroom-based support to implement comprehensive program, including demonstration of best teaching practices. 3. Work with the principal to create a school-wide focus on goals for learning achievement. 4. Oversee the school's assessment procedure, data collection, and collaborate with administration to complete reports and state assessments 5. Complete monthly status reports for administrators that show work over time and strengths with opportunities. 6. Actively participate in professional development opportunities and professional research along with required reading to better serve the school site. 7. Engage in student learning process as per the coaching continuum as needed for student, teacher, and school success.
