Supervisor of Human Resources (#316964)
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Collaboratively provides vision and leadership for the Office of Human Resources through strategic planning, organizing, directing, administering, and evaluating human resources programs and services in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Human Resources, Director of Human Resources, as well as Principals to meet division and department goals.
Licensure: Preferred: Virginia Postgraduate Professional License (Administration and Supervision) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
Education Required: Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Human Resources Management, or related field
Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years of successful leadership experience in school-based leadership or private industry Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of secondary teaching experience
Skills & Knowledge Required: Exceptional leadership qualities and interpersonal skills necessary for working effectively with teachers,support staff, administrators, and other members of the community; strong conceptual skills and problem-solving capabilities; knowledgeable of strategic planning and continuous improvement; knowledgeable of preK-12 instructional programs; ability to develop and effectively present ideas orally and in written form.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develops, interprets, and implements personnel policies and procedures to effectively direct human resources services * Oversees recruitment and retention of highly effective secondary licensed and support employees * Prepares personnel reports in compliance with federal, state, and local policies and regulations * Facilitates investigations and the employee grievance process according to school board policy * Investigates complaints ensuring Title VI and Title IX compliance * Oversees the implementation of the evaluation models for licensed and support staff * Coordinates the assignment of practicum students, student teachers, and interns * Oversees the allocations of staff based on standards of quality and instructional needs * Plans and facilitates professional development for licensed and support staff * Provides guidance to supervisors evaluating employees and developing intensive support plans * Develops and implements action plans to promote strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives * Collaborates across departments and schools fostering collegiality, coaching, and teamwork in the continuous improvement process * Demonstrates organizational skills to serve as a highly effective instructional leader * Promotes a collaborative and team oriented environment * Performs other duties assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: (12 -month contract, minimum of 7.5 hours per day)
SALARY RANGE: $88,943.00 - $114,980.00
