5th & 6th grade Music teacher needed for Bridgestone Intermediate Center.

Bridgestone Intermediate School is a 5th & 6th grade center, located at 1700 S. Council Road in OKC. We opened our brand new building in the 2012-13 school year. Our district provides so much to our students! We have free breakfast for all students, a full time counselor, an indirect services teacher, Title I math and reading teachers, a clothing closet and food pantry available to our families, the backpack program, two principals, and an energetic and innovative staff! We also have an outdoor classroom, a natural habitat with native grasses, trees, walking trails, and pond which provide our urban students with experiences that they may not normally have. This year, we are beginning an exciting new program, Success for All, funded through a school improvement grant. This will provide our staff with additional professional development and much needed resources! At Bridgestone, we focus on preparing our students for the transition to middle school. We have the awesome responsibility to keep our students engaged in school so that we can get them through the upcoming transitions successfully in order to graduate from high school. When our students graduate from Western Heights with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher, they can attend Oklahoma City Community College tuition free! I believe my school and district can provide a great education for the students in our district and a wonderful teaching opportunity for educators who truly want to make a difference!
