Behavior Specialists Grades K - 3
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment, Functional Behavioral Specialist.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Behavior Specialist (Grades K-3)
Observe, assess, and provide support to students who have emotional or behavior issues. Provide services as a member of the Child Study Team and the Intervention and Referral Team in the assessment, educational planning, monitoring, behavior plans, and training. Leads and directs individualized treatment Case Manage IEP students for grades K-3 Provides behavioral Intervention Plans and trains necessary staff/parents Consults with all members of the treatment team to ensure plan participation Monitors individualized consumer-drive data to address consumer needs Supervises response to emergency/crisis situations with team members and consumers Participates in required meetings, evaluations, supervision and trainings Completes all required clinical documentation Maintains assigned, planned schedule Maintains a commitment to professional development Adheres to professional and ethical interaction policies and procedures Supports on-going and future school needs Qualifications Profile Certification/License: - New Jersey State Certification - Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation. Education: - Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment. - Masters Degree Experience: - Successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
