Summer Employment Opportunity Position:  Summer Program Director for 21st Century Summer School Program

Approxiate dates of employment are from April 16, 2017 through August 11, 2017.  The Summer Program Director is expected to be at the program from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. 

Summary:  To provide leadership designed to maximize the education and social development of each child involved with the summer program. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Supervises summer program employees.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to program policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring summer program employees, develop wok schedules, assigning and directing summer curriculum including lesson plan monitoring, appraising performance, and organizing field trips.  The Summer Program Director wil address parent and staff concerns throughout the program. 

Technology Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual would benefit with knowledge or acquire proficiency in Internet and email software; student rosters, spreadsheet software and word processing software.

  Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle tools and equipment and reach with hands and arms; as well as talk and hear clearly. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s Degree with a ND teaching license is preferred with extensive experience with student management and emotional and behavioral needs.

To be determined upon employment.

This is a temporary position for the summer of 2017.   There is no accumulation of leave.  The summer school program will be held at Williston Public School District #1 facilities.  Payment of salaries and any applicable benefits will be made by the Great Northwest Regional Education Association (REA).
