The following information outlines the role and responsibilities of a School Psychologist for Lauderdale County School System. *The School Psychologist performs psycho-educational assessment of students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. *Consults with school staff and parents about eligibility, disability characteristics, assessment information, appropriate services, interventions and placement options. *Participates in crisis management by counseling and/or providing referrals to community resources. *Provides counseling services as required by student IEPs and requested by members of the IEP team. *Consults with teachers and parents in the development of appropriate student behavior goals. *Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA). *Oversees Manifestation Determination meetings. *Interprets test data for parents and school personnel, researches available tests and materials, and provides in-service training when asked. Qualifications -Psychologist Pre-K to 12 endorsement -Must possess or be able to obtain a Tennessee Department of Education Apprentice Special Group or Professional School Service Personnel license with an endorsement in School Psychology. -Experience in the administration and interpretation of assessment techniques to evaluate cognitive skills, academic achievement, behavior functioning, and eligibility for special education services. -Experience consulting with staff on academic and behavioral concerns. -Skills in intervention (both behavioral and academic). -Knowledge of RTI and interpreting RTI data.
