Manager, Marketing & Communications (#281894)
AUSL (Academy for Urban School Leadership) is looking for a Manager of Marketing and Communications to help cultivate and execute our strategy to advance our branding and public relations, build relationships, and achieve ongoing awareness and understanding of AUSL's Mission and achievements. This person must fully understand and embrace the transformational effect of the AUSL model and lead efforts to broadly share that vital message externally. We require someone to build on past marketing and communication successes and to find new and innovative ways to tell our story and convey the sense of urgency required to meet the needs of our city's most under-served young people. The Manager will work closely with senior leaders, program staff, and school teams to develop a social media strategy, inform stakeholders about important decisions, create a consistent brand, and source stories to inform the community about our initiatives. As an integral part of our External Affairs team, the Manager will * develop a marketing plan to enable AUSL to increase awareness and understanding across multiple audiences, * implement an integrated program of marketing initiatives designed to achieve the goals set out in the marketing plan, * oversee all mass communications in order to enhance AUSL’s publicity and identity and ensure the consistency and accuracy of our story, * support the AUSL management team and school principals in cultivating positive working relationships with local media, * support the marketing and communications aspects of major events and activities, * develop and design marketing collateral, graphics, signage and other deliverables to support development, marketing and organizational communications, * identify creative opportunities to maximize positioning and messaging across all communication channels; and * establish a dashboard of performance metrics to track progress against marketing objectives.
Skills The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of marketing experience, ideally hold a Master’s degree, and have demonstrated success in translating strategic plans into marketing initiatives. The candidate will have experience interacting with the media, developing a social media program, working knowledge of (proficiency preferred) with Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office tools, and the ability to multi-task multiple projects at a time.
