QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Associates Degree preferred; high school diploma with experience minimum. 2. Knowledge of accepted business practices in school districts related to human resources. 3. Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting. 4. Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. 5. Required criminal history background check, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status & NJ residency. REPORTS TO: Principal JOB GOAL: To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Office Responsibilities 1. Types evaluations, memos, newsletters, faculty handbook and other documents as required. 2. Performs office routines and practices such as sorting mail, operating the copy machine, serving as telephone receptionist and others. 3. Maintains an appropriate filing system and readily retrieves documents. 4. Receives, tracks, and distributes materials. B. Student Records 1. Initiates and maintains student records on Powerschool, NJ SMART, and in files.. 2. Keeps track of attendance and study hall, for grades PreK-2. 3. Prepares and enters necessary state compliance reports. C. School and Community Relations 1. Demonstrates a willingness to assist and work cooperatively with colleagues. 2. Assists students, staff, parents and others in person and by telephone. 3. Prepares weekly student communications. D. Work Traits 1. Maintains confidentiality as required and appropriate. 2. Demonstrates an openness to discuss suggestions. 3. Demonstrates initiative, independence and decision-making appropriate to this position. 4. Makes efficient use of time and resources available. 5. Provides well-organized, accurate work. 6. Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and to change priorities, as appropriate, to meet the needs of the job. 7. Participates in staff development opportunities to enhance job-related skills and knowledge. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Twelve-month employee. Salary to be recommended by Executive Director and approved by board.
