Transport students or special clients, Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs. Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios. Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport students between neighborhoods, schools, and school activities. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. Follow safety rules as students are boarding and exiting buses, and as they cross streets near bus stops. Pick up and drop off students at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions. Maintain vehicle cleanliness Comply with Florida State School Board Regulations and Legacy School Policies pertaining to school bus driver certification and responsibility. Wear approved uniform. Attend assigned workshops and training programs. Submit to Drug and/or Alcohol testing when required by Legacy Board of Directors, State, and/or Federal policy. Perform other duties as assigned.
