ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION SPECIALIST

Cooperative Educational Services seeks an Assistive Technology Education Specialist.to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing intervention for children and students with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, neurological impairments and serious emotional disturbances.  

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Special Education.  Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (SLP’s only).  State of CT Speech and Language Pathologist Licensure in accordance with the State of Connecticut Health Department Guidelines.  Hold a State of CT Department of Education Special Service Endorsement – Speech and Language Pathologist (061) or Special Education Endorsement.  Experience in providing AT/AAC services preferred.
 
General Purpose: Under the direct supervision of a Director of Special Education, AT Education Specialist, is a proactive member of the C.E.S. Related Services Department.  The AT Education Specialist will provide assessment and intervention services to students requiring assistive technology (AT), including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and will provide technical assistance and training support to educational staff throughout Fairfield County and beyond.

Specialized Functions:  
Extensive travel throughout Connecticut is a requirement of this position.  Advanced knowledge of AT/AAC tools and supports ranging from low to high technology.

Start Date: August 19, 2021

Position Length: Full time following the School Calendar

Salary: As per Teacher's Contract
