Chappaqua CSD is looking for an energetic, innovative and inspirational professional/staff developer to support academic excellence in K-8 Mathematics. 


Position Purpose:

This full-time professional developer’s primary focus is to ensure that the students of Chappaqua have access to the very best Mathematics education available.  The successful candidate will join a robust and talented professional development team of teachers and leaders and will report directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.  Although this is a 10-month teaching position, additional compensation is provided for a significant summer commitment. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A skillful team-player committed to putting forth collaborative effort to achieve common team goals

  • Comprehensive understanding of research based mathematics instruction

  • Commitment to supporting culturally responsive, inclusive learning environments

  • Knowledge of Singapore Mathematics instructional models

  • Ability to support and model progressive and innovative instructional methods

  • Experience writing, evaluating, and revising curriculum

  • Knowledge of STEAM and project-based learning through effective technology integration

  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, teacher coaching, and mentoring

  • The ability to make responsible, data-informed decisions

  • Knowledge of personalized learning and how to support personalized instruction

  • Ability to multitask, project plan, and coordinate various initiatives simultaneously

  • Commitment to personal professional growth to remain on the leading edge of innovation 



  • Mathematics 7-12 prefered, Special Education or Elementary acceptable. 

  • Administrative certification preferred, although not required


  • Extensive successful mathematics teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level

  • Successful experience supporting adult professional learning

  • Leadership experience prefered (ex. Department Chairperson or Building Administrator)
