Assistant Program Administrator
Title: Assistant Program Administrator, Southeast Alternative School and Directions Program
Reports To: Program Administrator for Southeast Alternative School and Directions Program
Job Goal: Provide leadership in all areas related to the education of students with significant emotional and behavioral disorders. Assist in the design and implementation of research based, standards aligned curriculum and assessment procedures, as well as therapeutic and behavioral interventions. Assist in the supervision, evaluation and professional development of all certified, non-certified and related service staffs assigned to the program.
Illinois Type 75 or another Administrative Certificate
Experience in teaching, related service or administrative position within special education (minimum of 5 years)
Experience working with students with social/emotional challenges
Illinois Qualified Evaluator
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the operations of all aspects of the Southeast Alternative School and Directions program and facility.
Develop and maintain quality school and community relations.
Assist in design and implementation of curricula that supports the learning and social emotional goals of the program.
Implement data based decision making processes related to student behavior and academic achievement.
Assist with the implementation of staff development programs that align with student learning and social-emotional goals for all staff members.
Assist in the continuous School Improvement process
Provide leadership to assure the implementation of all SASED policies.
Assist in the supervision and evaluation of certified and non-certified staff
Assist in the planning of building and leadership team meetings
Assist in the coordination of the repair and maintenance of the Southeast Alternative School
Coordinate student transportation.
Coordinate the restorative practices and proactive strategies and interventions through Southeast and the Directions Program.
Lead the Building Safety Committee and implement protocols
Provide professional development and support for crisis de escalation.

Terms of Employment: 220 day work year at compensation set by the SASED Board of Control.Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the SASED Board of Control policy on evaluation of certified staff.
