 Early Childhood Family Education Teacher
for the 2020/2021 School Year


ECFE Teacher would run Monday and Tuesday night classes approximately 5-7:30 pm and help support other events throughout throughout the week.  
There is also a potential to cover a full time ECFE and preschool teacher long term sub position beginning early October, 2021.


Must have a valid Teaching License through the Minnesota Department of Education

• Birth-3 Candidates will receive first consideration

• All employees must complete a background check upon hire

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, prep and execute age appropriate lessons that are engaging to a variety of audiences on or off campus

• Track students growth

• Create monthly newsletters that are theme related and include parent information and resources

• Attend necessary meetings

• Assist with ECFE events

• Create take home opportunities for children and families to do at home

• Work with families with early childhood families in a variety of ways

• Establish and maintain positive connections with early childhood families and collaborators

Position Expectations

• Has strong knowledge base in the area of Early Childhood

• Create hands-on lesson plans that work for multi-ages as well as age specific classes

• Plans interactive group time activities that work for multi-ages as well as age specific classes

• Uses the Early Learning Standards as base to create effective lessons

• Able to utilize various means of technology in the classroom to promote learning and collaboration

• Establishes consistent class routines that are fluid with other age groups

• Able to partner with team to create a literacy rich environment

• Shares new ideas and teaching methods with other early childhood teachers

• Maintains a classroom that promotes positive learning for a variety of learning styles

• Communicate effectively with students, and parents

• Inserts parent information/resources into communications, classes and collaborations

• Assist with Toy Lending Library duties

• Create themed take home bags that contain activities for families to utilize at home

• Maintains communication with ECFE team to coordinate plans and parent communications

• Directs support staff as needed in the classroom and for prepping

• Establishes positive connections with Daycare Providers, Families, Co-workers and other collaborators

• Responsible for maintaining order in the classroom for smooth transitions from class to class

• Handles confidential information appropriately

• Assists with tracking student/parent attendance

• Attends trainings to improve skills and knowledge base that are specific to Early Childhood

• Complete other jobs as assigned
