High School Psychologist - Leave Replacement
An appropriate candidate for the School Psychologist position on the Child Study Team will have earned the relevant certification (School Psychologist) and have experience as a School Psychologist, preferably on the secondary level. This individual must demonstrate the necessary specialized skills and personal characteristics to carry out the philosophy and instructional program of the Ridgewood Public Schools, as well as the state mandates related to students with disabilities. As a School Psychologist, this individual will conduct assessments and assist in establishing educational and/or management plans for the atypical learner in conjunction with other team members and staff. S/he will develop and monitor the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) of the students s/he case manages, communicate effectively with teachers, parents and administrators, consult with teachers on the learning, behavioral and emotional needs of classified students, provide counseling as a related service as per student IEPs, maintain a high level of competency and keep abreast of developments in content, methodology and assessment, and work for harmonious relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
