Under the general supervision of the School Principal and Athletic Director, the Athletic Trainer oversees the well-being of student athletes during their training, practices, and games by ensuring appropriate training/treatment techniques. The Athletic Trainer serves as a liaison between teams and families by communicating treatment expectations and home needs for continuing treatment and partnering with families to ensure all parties have access to available information and supports. The Athletic Trainer also instructs students enrolled in Sports Medicine coursework, supervises Neville student interns, as well as university sports medicine/athletic trainer interns, and instructs other related courses as needed.
Qualifications for Athletic Trainer
- CTTIE Certied Athletic Trainer and appropriate credentials for Louisiana Athletic Trainers
- Complete satisfactory background check
- Drug screen
- Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to assignment.
