Building Glenbard North
Term 10 Month
Position Type Support Staff
Hours 5 hours per day, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
License Required Paraprofessional, Substitute or PEL License
Supervisor Department Chair
Rate of Pay $15.00 per hour
Start Date For 2021-22 School Year
 

Position Summary
The qualified candidate will perform duties and responsibilities necessary to support the Department to which they report. Comfort and ability to work with children in an educational environment.
 

Qualifications/Requirements
 
  • Technology-literate with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Associates degree or beyond in Child Care, Early Childhood Education, Primary Education or an appropriate related field.
  • Aide approval license from R.O.E. or valid IL Teaching Certificate.
  • Certified in first aid/CPR from an approved program.  May be completed after hire.
  • Technology literacy- Ability to accurately inventory and order supplies needed for day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain a safe, and orderly, environment.
  • Teach preschool lessons
  • Supervise, evaluate and assist high school students in the preschool environment.
  • Provide written and oral communication with parents.
  • Ability to thrive in a self-directed position.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, operate duplicating machines and computer equipment; reach with hands and arms; and will frequently repeat actions with the same hand, arm, or finger motion such as when typing.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  In addition, the ability to withstand long-term use of video display terminals (VDT) is required.
The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds such as reference books.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The pace of work tasks would be considered as fast.
Work is usually conducted at one job site, however, on occasion, this employee will be required to attend meetings, conferences, or workshops and events at other sites as assigned.
