School Psychologist - 1.0 FTE
2020-21 Salary Range: $42,418 - $62,354 or Appropriate placement on salary schedule. Benefits available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The psychologist is a key member of the school community functioning as a support for students, families and staff. Is willing to be a leader in Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports. Conducts comprehensive psychological examinations of referred students. Provides counseling services to general and special education students. Administers, scores and interprets individual psychological mental measurements of all students. (Test competencies must include but are not limited to WISC-V, WAIS-IV, UNIT, KABC-2, Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Cognitive Abilities, and various adaptive and social/emotional/behavior scales.). Designs classroom and individual contingency management programs to assist regular and special education teachers to deal effectively with challenging student behavior, both in and out of the classroom. Provides consultation to teachers, administrators and other school personnel regarding learning and adjustment of children, appropriate learning objectives and sound development and remedial programs for students in regular and special education programs. Counsels with parents in an effort to improve their child's school performance and classroom behavioral functioning. Knowledgeable regarding special education rules and regulations. Possesses interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate cooperation and mutual support. Functions as a member of the special education eligibility and IEP teams, making eligibility and placement decisions in special education.
- Montana licensure as a school psychologist (supervision available for psychologist in their internship year) or ability to be certified by the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
