Grade Level Leader (GLL) Job Description
All employees at Prospect Ridge Academy work together to create academic, social, and ethical leaders. Every employee at Prospect Ridge Academy is expected to deliver exceptional customer service skills to our students, parents, and PRA community. Prospect Ridge Academy is a dynamic school, subject to changing work environments, adaptation of new educational principles and values, and evolving culture. Adaptability to change is essential. This job description is an overview of duties and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed.
 
The GLL helps guide and assist the grade level team as appropriate and will accomplish these duties while working with students, parents, other teachers and staff toward achieving the goals set forth in the Prospect Ridge Academy Mission Statements.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Team/Personnel Leadership
  • Represent and communicate the needs of the team while following appropriate processes and communication channels (helpdesk, facilities, activities, purchase requests, etc.)
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and relay minutes to administration
  • Manage p-card and designated team monies
Student Achievement Leadership
  • Serve as the grade level MTSS coordinator
  • Seek professional development opportunities to increase team knowledge and understanding regarding MTSS
  • Monitor student progress and facilitate MTSS spreadsheet updates
  • Assist in the scheduling of team’s Problem Solving Team (PST) meetings
  • Serve as the grade level Data Team Coordinator
  • Conduct data team cycles as deemed necessary by team
  • Facilitate data team meetings and relay minutes and data analysis spreadsheets to administration
  • Serve as the grade level Culture/Climate Coordinator
  • Facilitate collegial conversations regarding overall and grade level culture/climate issues while working towards positively altering school wide
General Educational/PRA Leadership
  • Serve as the team liaison on the PRA Hiring Sub-Committee
  • Participate in monthly GLL meetings with administration
  • Participate in ongoing leadership/coaching professional development
  • Work with other GLL’s to problem solve on behalf of the needs of the K-12
  • Lead a professional development workshop annually
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • College degree required
  • Completed Induction Program
  • Experience with Response to Intervention
  • Successful differentiation and progress monitoring experience
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of PRA curricula
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional development
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to assess grade level needs and plan and organize accordingly
  • Strong self-starter; able to work with limited direction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, conflict management skills, problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Resourceful in generating creative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to apply superb judgment
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
  • Have not been placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) in the last 1-2 years or had any disciplinary write-ups or concerns related to a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) in the last year of employment.
  • The extra duty must not detract or supersede the primary job function of the staff member.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The employee is regularly required to talk, walk, stand and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, grasp, and perform light lifting.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to read and interpret various documents such as rules, policy and expectation, agreements, rubrics, scope and sequence documents, and assessment documents.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of staff, students, Board of Directors, Administrators and parents. 
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is occasionally regularly performed inside and outside with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures. Work is performed in all weather conditions and includes exposure to moderate and sometimes loud noise. This is a highly public position that includes contact with students, staff, Administrators, Prospect Ridge Academy Board of Directors and parents. Occasionally work may consist of ten (10) plus hour days with weekend work as needed.
