Special Education Instructional Assistant
High School Diploma or GED and passed ParaPro Praxis Exam (or 60 college credits) required.
Successful background check required.
Prefer experience working with children.
Patience, flexibility, confidentiality, team work, self starter, takes direction easily, excellent communication skills, and behavior management skills. Assists in the classroom and in special education classroom. Applicant will also work with students on health plans.

Work with student throughout the day assisting with behavior and academics. Refocus the student in the classroom, de-escalate negative behavior, recognize and acknowledge positive behavior, work cooperatively with classroom teacher and Special Education staff. Work to increase independence in children. Other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher.

Hours per day:
6.75 hrs per day, Monday-Friday
As per contract, $13.41-$16.57 DOE
