Advanced Academic Specialist
To serve in a campus leadership position as a teacher of gifted and talented students and serve as the facilitator of the gifted and talented program on the elementary campus.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Texas elementary teaching certificate
Minimum of 30 Gifted and Talented Education hours (6 – Nature and Needs, 6 – Identification and Assessment, 6 – Social and Emotional Needs, 6 – Curriculum Differentiation, Creativity)
GT Endorsement or passing score on GT supplemental certification test
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of elementary gifted and talented curriculum
Three years successful experience as a classroom teacher Experience teaching gifted and talented students Experience in campus leadership roles
Pay Grade: Teacher/10 months
