Nurse Substitute - Extended Day to Day 2021-22 school year
Penn Manor School District has an opening for an Extended Day to Day School Nurse position, available from 8/1/21 - 1/24/22.
We will provide paid training and orientation to the successful candidate during May, 2021.
Starting Rate RN - $18.07 per hour
Starting Rate LPN - $13.20 per hour
Hambright Elementary School
Hours: 3 days per week – 8/1/21 through 8/27/21, as needed
6.5 hours per day, available from 8/30/21 – 1/24/22, 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m., half hour break
August, 2021 - Must be able to work independently. Follow up on immunizations not in compliance, by contacting doctors and parents as needed. Input and scan student health records and medical documentation into Sapphire. Relay any medical conditions and changes to the Certified School Nurse.
8/30/21 – 1/24/21 - Under the supervision of the Certified School Nurse, this position requires the ability to effectively follow oral and written instructions, to work independently (when appropriate), to handle emergency situations and to adjust to changes in the educational environment. Additionally, the Health Room Nurse must be able to communicate with employees at all levels and maintain a positive attitude with all employees, parents, students, and other individuals utilizing District buildings. This position requires the ability to effectively utilize student information management systems, Microsoft Word, and other district programs to maintain student health information in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as the ability to apply the required skills within the scope of LPN/RN practice. A current CPR/First Aid training (valid card must be maintained on file at all times).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid PA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Valid PA Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
Recent nursing experience, within one year of application preferred.
Previous experience providing RN/LPN services to students in a K-12 school environment is preferred.
Current CPR certification through a Department of Health approved certifying agency.
Interested applicants should be aware that, if hired, they would be responsible for obtaining and providing the necessary background checks and clearances as well as evidence of a physical and TB testing within the past 12 months. LPN or RN License and current/recent working experience in the health care profession are preferred.
