About Classroom Connection Day School:
The Classroom Connection Day School is a nonpublic special education facility, certified by the Illinois State Board of Education, for children with special learning needs. This program is intended for students with a primary diagnosis of Cognitive Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Speech or Language Impairment, Emotional Disturbance, Other Health Impairment, Multiple Disabilities, Developmental Delay or Autism. By using a wide variety of methodologies and programs to maximize each student's learning, we are able to create and offer an environment where children are motivated to explore and learn.
Summary of Position: Nonpublic therapeutic day school in Chicago’s North Shore area seeks a full time LBS1 with Type 75 to act as a Case Manager and Program Diector. Under direction of the Executive and Academic Directors, the ideal candidate will serve as lead teacher for a caseload of up to six students. He/she will provide daily instruction, mentor special education paraprofessionals on academic methodologies and techniques, coordinate and prepare IEP drafts for submission to the Academic Director. The Case Manager will support daily, on-going Program supervision including: floor management, support for student regulation, observation of best practice during instruction, quality of instruction, care for environment and materials, and access to an organized environment ans sets of materials, as well as crisis prevention and management. The Program Director role requires participation on the Admissions and the Admnistrative Team, as well as providing support to school personnel, parents and district personnel. He/she oversees daily Program implementation, including promoting and modeling quality instructional/care plans, coordinating crisis prevention and medical management teams. The Director assists case managers in drafting and executing students’ individual education programs, ensures staff credential compliance, monitors ISBE compliance issues and advises the administrative team on ISBE policy development.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Type 75 experience in a therapeutic day school setting. Additionally, the Consultant will frequently be in direct contact with students, staff members and the public.
