Description

The Mt. Lebanon School District has an immediate need for a paraprofessional/personal care assistant position at Howe Elementary School. Personal Care Assistants work directly with students with special needs, assisting in the academic, social/emotional, and behavioral development of the students in accordance with an Individualized Education Program (IEP). See attached job description for more details.

Personal care assistants work 7 hours/day, between the hours of 7:30 AM and 3:45 PM, 185 days during the regular school year (summers, weekends and holidays off). Starting wages are either $13.31 or $13.56 per hour, for new hires to the District depending upon previous school district experience.

This is a permanent position with continued employment from year to year that is eligible for fringe benefits after successful completion of a 90 day probationary period:

QUALIFICATIONS
In order to be eligible for this paraprofessional position, the applicant must meet at least one of the following criteria:
1) Have completed at least two (2) years of postsecondary study, or
2) Possess an associates degree or higher, or
3) Meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through State or local assessment.

Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)

Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting (Act 126)
Arrest or Conviction Form PDE 6004 (Act 24)
School Personnel Health Record & TB Test
Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
