School Office and Recess/Lunch Aide at Eliot Elementary School
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Approximately 11:00 - 1:30 pm
Under supervision of the Principal, the School Office Aide will assist in the supervision of students during lunch, recess, and support on an as needs basis. In addition, this position performs basic office and clerical tasks to support the effective operation of the main office.
Duties include general receptionist duties such as greeting parents and other office visitors, answering phones, taking messages, filing, making copies, mail distribution, distribution of classroom materials. Other duties include supervision of students at lunch and recess. Duties may also include assisting other miscellaneous office tasks and classroom supervision.
- Supervises students during lunch and recess.
- May provide classroom coverage as needed.
- Performs receptionist duties such as greeting school visitors, parents, and others with school-related business. Tracks school visitors. Answers phone, takes messages, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel. Runs copies, send faxes, files paperwork, shreds documents, sends out correspondence and bulletins, maintains mailing lists and distributes school mail. Assists in preparation of school bulletins and bulletin boards.
Performs related duties as required by the principal or the principal's administrative assistant.
Good communication skills and ability to work well with others; strong technology skills; previous work with elementary aged students preferred
