Job Title:        Bilingual Aide
Reports to:     Campus Principal
Dept/School:  Campus to be Assigned
Work Year:      184 days
Base Salary:   $19,750  Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.

Assist bilingual teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and support Bilingual/ESL students in the classroom setting.  Work under supervision of a certified bilingual teacher.
High School Diploma or GED
Associates degree or two years of higher education preferred
If hired, must complete SBEC certification process to obtain an Educational Aide Certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:    
Ability to work with children where English is their second language
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of general office equipment
Provide assistance in the following federally-approved activities.
Help teacher prepare instructional materials.
Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
Provide assistance to substitute teachers.
Help manage behavior of students.
Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student’s special needs.
Work with individual students or small groups.
Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom.
Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
Maintain confidentiality.
Participate in staff development training programs and special events as assigned.
Fulfill other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Ability to work in stressful environment.  Work with frequent interruptions.  Prolonged use of the computer and other office equipment.  Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Must be able to lift 25lbs.
