Intensive Reading Teacher 9 - 12 (Broward)
Must hold a certificate issued by any agency.
The Intensive Reading Teacher will be responsible for facilitating student learning in an instructional technology learning environment and supplementing computer-based instruction with direct instruction. The Reading Teacher works as a Team Member to meet the needs of all Students. Building relationships is a critical component of this learning environment, the Team works together to identify Student needs that may be barriers to success. Collaborates with Team Members to analyze different means of meeting Student needs and communicate with Students, Parents, and other Team Members about Student Progress and plan for next steps.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and implement the School curriculum for assigned grade levels and subjects Partner with English Teacher to advise and plan for Students individual learning plans, providing coaching and mentoring in an advisory capacity Evaluate the intervention program and collect and coordinate data to comprehensively monitor student progress Identify and select appropriate instructional materials aligned to content standards Implement relevant information from research and professional literature on best practices in instruction Demonstrate knowledge of state standards, testing requirements, and graduation requirements within the core content Work with students in small- or pull-out group instruction to provide targeted support Analyze formal and informal data and accurately complete student data assessment analysis and provide informative reports regarding student instruction and achievement Attend weekly staff meetings and other required meetings as assigned Develop short term and annual goals, based on identified student needs, that reflects national school counseling standards and state program components related to guidance curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support Other duties as deemed necessary by the Principal
