Description

This position is for School Age Child Care support during Hybrid or Distance Learning and K-12 Special Ed Paraprofessional when in-person school resumes.

Non-Licensed Position

 

Hours Per Day: 7.5 hrs per day while working as a school age child care support, 6.25 hrs per day when the position is moved into a specific school to support special education students when in-person learning resumes.
Hours Per Week:  Ranges from 31.25 - 37.5 hrs per week
Days Per Year (including holidays): 174
Start and End Time: TBD
Start Date: 9/8/2020 
 

Position Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma required - prefer candidate with AA degree. Additional post-secondary training relevant to children/adolescents/young adults preferred. Flexibility within the work environment. Able to work with small and large groups, one-to-one, and in multiple school settings.
  2. Strong communication skills with students and adults.
  3. Skilled in use of various computer programs (word processing, Powerpoint, excel) and with technology used by students (iPads, smartphones).
  4. Strong language, math and reading skills.
  5. Willingness to accept direction from supervising teacher(s) and administrators.
  6. Ability to cope with change and with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  7. Ability to move quickly from sitting to standing position and to follow students at a fast pace, when needed
  8. Salary and benefits in accord with the Agreement with the Lakeville Educational Assistants Federation (L.E.A.F.)
  9. Position classified: LEAF B-2-1 $17.39 - $21.78 per hour depending on experience
