Maternity Leave Position

HINCKLEY-BIG ROCK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
 
POSITION: 5th Grade Teacher - Maternity Leave (Starting approx. November 5, 2020)
DESCRIPTION:  Elementary Teacher
QUALIFICATIONSCandidates must possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License.
 
STARTING SALARY$100/day for first 15 consecutive days; $199.17/day afterward
 
DUTIES:  Candidates must be able to teach mathematics and reading/language arts, and they need to have an in-depth understanding of Illinois’s new Math and ELA Standards. This job requires teaching in-person to a group of students for one half of the day and teaching remotely to another group of students the second half of the day. This job requires patience and the necessary ability and skills to teach children in a pleasant, creative and constructive manner. Candidates must be able to differentiate instruction and activities, plan and assign lessons, prepare and grade tests, and build community both with the in-person students as well as the remote students. Also, it is important to have good verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Candidate must work well on a team and be willing to share ideas and plan collaboratively with other grade level teachers and instructional leaders in our Professional Learning Community structure. Expectations are that teachers will practice reflective teaching strategies and seek continuous self-improvement.
