Teacher of the Visually Impaired Part Time 1099 Contracted hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The list of Essential Duties and Responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be supplemented. 1. Assessing and identifying the student’s individual education needs related to their vision loss. 2. Providing access to the student’s education curriculum. 3. Fostering focused core curriculum opportunities. 4. Collaborating with school stakeholders. 5. Ensuring students receive their education in the most appropriate and least restrictive environment 6. Ensures the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment. 7. Creates and maintains a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition in the instructional environment. 8. Analyzes student progress and provide appropriate instruction. 9. Works professionally with administrators, staff, parents, and the community. 10. Integrates technology into the instructional program. 11. Implements and acts as a MDT and IEP team member 12. Assisting with the writing Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students with disabilities. 13. Participates in other job-related duties and activities related to the position, as assigned.

Position Expectations 1. Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities. 2. Work cooperatively with students, parents, peers, administration, and community members. 3. Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals as it relates to visually impaired students. 4. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects. 5. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives in order to meet the needs of all students. 6. Participate as an active member with other faculty and staff. 7. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and District policy. 8. Maintain and improve professional competence. 9. Communicate effectively both written and orally.
