Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio K-12 Intervention Specialist License - Mild/Moderate 
  • Knowledge and training in working with students with emotional, social, behavioral, and mental health needs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains appropriate and timely communication with students, parents, district personnel, and  other partner agencies
  • Collaborate with appropriate grade level teachers and building personnel to facilitate inclusion opportunities, maintain pacing of academic instruction, and building wide activities
  • Responsible for case managing students with disabilities which includes writing IEPs, data collection, and progress monitoring
  • Establish and maintain a highly structured classroom with student behavior management, academic instruction, and scheduling; includes planning delivery of engaging and academic activities
  • Work in collaboration with any and all personnel assigned to the classroom and students to support the mental health and social emotional needs
  • Consistent
  • Knowledge of IEP/ETR requirements and how to write a compliant IEP
  • Passion for working with students with disabilities
  • Ability to restrain a student if necessary (restraint training will be provided)
