Reports To: Director of Learning Resources
Salary Range: Level 8, Nonexempt, based on education and experience
Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the division director, and according to division and/or College procedures and Board policy, the Writing Center Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the Writing Centers on the Oglesby Campus and at the Ottawa Center. This individual works collaboratively with the Learning Resources division and the IVCC English faculty to provide support for IVCC students and is responsible for promoting writing on campus.
Hours of Work: This is a 12-month position, Monday through Friday, flexible, up to 29 hours per week, with possible evenings.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in composition, rhetoric, or literature from an accredited college/university; and two years of experience teaching composition and/or literature required. Experience working in a post-secondary writing center; experience teaching composition in a community college; and experience working in a community college writing center preferred.
