Title: Durational Technology Security Specialist (1 Year)

Position Definition:

This Technical position supports academic and administrative computing throughout the East Haven Public Schools.


Position Requirements: Skills related to cyber threat detection and incident handling. Skills related to acccess control system and video surveillence. Able to manage accounts in PowerSchool, Active Directory and Google. Good technology and communication skills.

General Duties: Maintenance of technology-based hardware and software. Installation of network cable, testing and termination.  Installation and maintenance of other network devices including wireless access points, switches, printing and photocopying devices and security cameras.  Perform other related duties as assigned by director of technology.


Additional Duties:

Working knowledge of computer use, maintenance and repair.  Ability to work with other staff as well as work with indirect supervision.  Must be able to sit at a desk or stand at an assigned location and work continuously for extended periods of time, utilizing office equipment.  Must be able to handle carrying a load at a maximum of 50 pounds, and work safely on a ladder.


Supervised By:

Receives general supervision from Director of Technology.


Qualifications Profile:

Valid motor vehicle driver’s license.  Hands-on basic mechanical skills. Basic knowledge of wired and wireless networking hardware and peripherals.
