Paraprofessional - Spanish Immersion Program Part Time, 29 hours - Spanish Required

Qualifications:       
  • Must Speak Spanish
  • High School diploma.
  • State of Delaware Para educator Permit required. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, students, administrators, and parents.
  • Experience in working with students of varying abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills.
  • Criminal background check and Tuberculin testing.  
Summary:
 
The Instructional Paraprofessional will provide services, under the direction of the classroom teacher, to ensure that the student’s needs are met.  The Instructional Paraprofessional shall enforce the State rules and regulations and District policies to ensure the operation of the educational program.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:
 
  • Demonstrate professionalism, maintain confidentiality, accept constructive feedback, and maintain an atmosphere that promotes student learning.
  • Support the classroom teacher in instruction by engaging in planning, following plans outlined by the teacher, and working with individual students/small groups.
  • Support the classroom teacher in assessment by monitoring in keeping accurate/current record of student progress.
  • Support the classroom teacher in organization by performing clerical duties, assisting in gathering/developing instructional materials, and maintaining an organized work environment.
  • Demonstrate characteristics of an effective team member by engaging in problem-solving, and exhibiting flexibility and cooperation.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Work continuously toward self-improvement through the active pursuit of professional development activities.
  • Implement School Board and school-based policies and procedures in order to uphold school regulations.
  • Assume other responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned.
