Description


SUMMARY
Performs pesticide application work, maintains school grounds and athletic fields.  Performs all duties of a grounds maintenance worker.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Eighteen months of experience in grounds maintenance, pesticide application, athletic field preparation for events or related fields.
Six months of experience may be substituted for the trade-school-level courses.
Basic math skills.   
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.  
Any equivalent combination of training, education or experience which meets the minimum requirements. 
 
Must be able to work weekends. 
 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check (at employee’s expense).
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and  lift test.
Must hold a current Arizona Driver’s license and have accrued no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
ADOT (Arizona Dept. of Transportation) Medical Certificate required after hire.
Must have (or obtain within six months from date of hire) and maintain current Structural Pest Control Commission certifications in the following areas:  A-General Pest,  B-Weeds, C-Turf and Ornamental, D-Right of Way. 
Must have Qualified Party Certification within two years of hire.

LOCATION- Operations - Broadway & Kino Parkway Area
Blue Collar - Grade 4
1.0 FTE - 8 hours per day
12 month position

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.  
The hiring range for external candidates will be $12.00 per hour to $13.30 per hour, based on experience.
