LOCATION OF WORK:        Chesak Elementary School
 
STARTING DATE:                 Immediately
 
RANGE OF PAY:                   Base rate:  $13.27
 
WORK HOURS:                    Full Time / 10 months
 
CLASSIFICATION:                Aide (HESPA)
 
APPLICATION DEADLINE:   Until Filled
 
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:    Assist students with special needs in a bilingual classroom that may include behavioral and/or emotional needs throughout the day with academics and daily school activities.  Will assist the students in following a strict schedule.  Will also assist Bilingual teacher with miscellaneous classroom tasks.  Will aide the students and teacher to ensure success of the students in meeting his/her IEP goals.  Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be fluent in Spanish, able to translate written English into Spanish.  Minimum of 60 hours of college credit or previous experience working with children with special needs a plus. MUST show a letter of approval as a paraprofessional issued through ROE or hold a Professional Educators License indicative of at least a bachelor’s degree or hold an ELS(PARA) license. Good bilingual written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students.  Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed.  Working experience with special needs children is preferred.
