School-based Behavioral Health Educational Technicians III (BHP) - Anticipated positions district wide.  (Based on student need)

Position Purpose

A Behavioral Health Professional affirms the right of children with disabilities to have the opportunity to make choices for themselves and to exert a measure of control over their physical and social environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains accurate up-to-date daily progress notes and additional comments and reports in a timely manner.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Individualized Education Plan.
  • Provides supports and accommodations dictated by a student's Individualized Education Plan.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must hold an Educational Technician III credential with the state of Maine and current CHRC fingerprinting.
Must have, or be eligible to earn, a Behavioral Health Technician (BHP) certification.
Ability to work collaboratively with all team members to ensure consistency and integrity in treatment approaches.
Knowledge of developmental disabilities and treatment/support strategies.
Conducts all activities and interactions in a professional, caring manner.
Works in a cooperative and collaborative manner as a team member.
Maintains the utmost respect for persons with disabilities and their families in all interactions.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
