Literacy and Math Tutor

School(s): Frank Ward Strong Middle School/Memorial School 

Reports to: Building Principals 

Primary Function: The Literacy and Math Tutor will assist students in achieving student learning objectives by working directly with identified students or groups of students who need support. 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree; Experience in reading and math instruction strongly preferred 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

? Work with small groups of students to improve students’ reading skills 

? Create a positive learning environment sensitive to students’ needs 

? Monitor academic progress of students 

? Share student level data with the Reading/Math Interventionists. 

? Work Under the direction of the Reading/Math Interventionists to align classroom instruction to interventionists. 

? Provide information for PPTs, SAT meetings, and parent conferences to the ReadingMath Interventionists as necessary.
