Child Care Assistant Manager


Job Title: Child Care Assistant Manager Reports To: Building Director and Childcare Manager Classification: Paraprofessional (Clerical/Teacher Assistant) Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Days: 188 Salary: See Compensation Plan for See Compensation Plan for Paraprofessional/Administrative Support Staff, Pay Grade 204 Contract: None Date Revised: 7/30/2020 Primary Purpose: Maintain a child-centered, developmentally appropriate learning environment for children 6 weeks-4 years of age. Maintain compliance with the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services Minimum Standards and Guidelines for Day Care Centers. Qualifications/Skills: Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services Minimum Standards Guidelines.
  • Ability to use personal computer and software.
  • Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience:
  • Teaching experience in Early Childhood.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
Program Support:
  • Supervise the daily operation and activities of the childcare center.
  • Be responsive to the needs of the children, students and staff.
  • Provide leadership and consultation for staff and parents.
  • Supervise, coach, evaluate and assign duties for childcare staff.
  • Establish and maintain clear communication between building director and childcare manager.
Clerical Support:
  • Maintain accurate required records regarding the business of the center, students and staff.
  • Organize and maintain staffing schedules.
Other:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
None. Equipment Used: Computer and various office equipment. Working Conditions: Mental Demands:
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Work with frequent interruptions.
  • This position requires regular interacting with the public.
Physical Demands:
  • Repetitive hand motions.
  • Prolonged use of the computer.
  • Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.
  • Moving small boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
