Grayslake North High School is seeking a 0.8 FTE Math Interventionist for the 2020-2021 school year.

Math Interventionist

Organizational Relationships

The interventionist reports directly to Coordinator and the Associate Principal of Curriculum and Instruction.

Qualifications

  • Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License: Teacher Mathematics preferred.  Master's Degree preferred but not required.

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions

  • Ability to visually supervise students, and assess situations for safety concerns

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions regarding the safety and welfare of students

  • Ability to perform assigned duties and tasks with a minimum of direction

  • Ability to maintain effective public, student, and co-worker relationships

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with individual students

  • Create an inclusive, safe, and equitable environment that supports all learners

  • Create and curate research-based executive functioning intervention curriculum, lessons & assessments

  • Plan and execute personalized learning experiences based on individual needs of a student as stated in his/her intervention plan

  • Deliver high quality, differentiated instruction in both small group and one-on-one settings at times delivering different lessons to multiple students at once

  • Manage planning, intervening and progress monitoring

  • Demonstrated strength in understanding the role and importance of executive functioning skills in adolescents

  • Communicate and collaboratively problem solve with stakeholders within the building regarding the intervention program, executive functioning, and building-wide supports

  • Lead and support the overall intervention program for the building and support the MTSS structure

  • Support the IEP process and provide regular progress monitoring data to stakeholders.
