Pennsauken Public Schools is an urban/suburban Pre-K to 12th grade school district of approximately 5,000 students located in Camden County, New Jersey
           
Qualifications:

  • Must be able to follow verbal and written directions
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic
  • Must be able to use and/or operate equipment to perform assigned duties within the Food Service Program
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs in weight
  • Must have and maintain a neat, clean and professional appearance
  • Must have and maintain a pleasant disposition, a positive attitude
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be able to keep calm in a crisis situation and maintain ability
  • High school graduate
  • MUST pass NJ Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting requirement
  • New Jersey State residency requirements for public employees in effect            
      Responsibilities:
 
  • Responsible for checking in deliveries with manager
  • Responsible for keeping school food service area clean on a daily basis, sweeping and mopping all kitchen floors, cleaning cooking vents as needed, cleaning walls as needed and any other assigned cafeteria cleaning jobs             
  • Responsible for taking out garbage daily
  • Responsible for keeping daily recorded inventories of all walk in refrigerator and freezers
  • Keep walk-in refrigerators and freezers, stock rooms, floors, locker rooms, dish room, and loading dock safe, tidy, clean and sanitized by sweeping, mopping and cleaning using proper procedures
  • Responsible for sweeping and mopping serving line floors daily
  • Responsible for sweeping and mopping kitchen bathroom, Filling towers and toilet paper as needed
  • Responsible for stocking shelves and rotating stock for all food items
  • Must be familiar with proper storage and handling of all foods
  • Responsible for distributing food to proper work stations during the day
  • Responsible for loading milk, juice and all beverages including vending on a daily basis
  • Responsible for recording milk consumption on a daily basis
  • Responsible for driving food service van in emergency situations (when van driver and back up drivers are unavailable
  • Must advise Manager when going on break/lunch
  • Must assist Manager when needed
  • Must adhere to any other reasonable request as directed by Manager or Assistant Manager

Terms:
  • Full-Time 10 month position with benefits
  • Salary to be determined by the Board of Education
