Title:    Coordinator of Strategic Partnerships and Recruitment            

Department: Human Resources        

Reports To: Senior Director of Human Resources

FLSA Status: Exempt                

Work Year: 12 months

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Coordinator of Strategic Partnerships and Recruitment will build a pipeline of diverse, talented educators who want to work for District 97 to create sustainability. The coordinator will strategically manage recruitment through talent management, innovative recruitment, retention planning, and the use of staffing data. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with Human Resources team and keep Senior Director of Human Resources informed

  • Forecast staffing needs; analyze trends and patterns; identify risks and opportunities

  • Develop a “Grow your Own” program 

  • Assist paraprofessionals, substitutes and parents who would like to earn a Professional Educator License

  • collaborate with the local high school to build teacher pathways for students

  • Develop strategic university partnerships to leverage as a tool for teacher prep programs, principal prep programs, the recruitment of student teachers and growth opportunities for current educators

  • Build and maintain a robust student teacher program that is run at District level and includes an application, interview, and placement process as well as a cohort for learning; utilize principal prep candidate to help manage the student teacher program

  • Collaborate with the Career Pathway Committee to build learning opportunities that are sustainable and rewarded by the District’s compensation model (retention)

  • Finalize and implement a recruitment and retention plan; continuously analyze the plan’s goals, effectiveness, cost, and sustainability; review and adapt program on a yearly basis

  • Utilize university partnerships to support educators with earning endorsements in hard to fill areas

  • Analyze applicant data and determine strategies to increase the diversity of applicants

  • Monitor hiring data to ensure the District’s staff is reflective of the student population

  • Partner with alternative certification programs

  • Utilize branding to increase the District’s visibility, increase recruitment efforts, and to attract a more diverse and highly qualified applicant pool; identify strengths and values to communicate employment brand

  • Utilize social media and job boards to recruit diverse talent

  • Lead the planning and coordination of  an Employee Recognition Program

  • Partner with community businesses to create a list of area businesses that will offer discounts for District employees

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement a variety of District events such as public displays and community booths, school supply drives and business partnerships

  • Determine strategic retention strategies

  • Create a “Stay Survey” to determine why educators stay in our District and develop strategies to enhance and promote these areas; improve the image of teaching by responding to teacher needs

  • Present information to HR team at weekly meetings

  • Provide presentations to District Leadership and BOE as assigned by Senior Director of Human Resources

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of state and national education news and trends

  • Maintain and update knowledge and skills required for success in the position by participating in professional development activities as needed or as assigned

  • Manage special projects as assigned

  • Provide assistance to HR Managers and Senior Director of HR as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION, CREDENTIALING and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree

    • Experience in recruitment and marketing 

    • Experience working with executives, managing large projects, pulling data from multiple sources, and managing highly confidential information
