Must hold a license issued by Virginia Department of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Collegiate Professional License, Eligibility License, Postgraduate Professional License.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Algebra I, Geometry.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Description

1. Participate in curriculum review and design. 2. Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives. 3. Diagnose and evaluates student abilities and progress in a timely manner. 4. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. 5. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. 6. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. 7. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. 8. Effectively implement district initiatives. 9. Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers. 10. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations. 11. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors. 12. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. 13. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation. 14. Serve on committees as assigned. 15. Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
