Assist the schools in the development of appropriate educational programs for students by conducting psycho-
educational evaluations, ARD representation for assessment related issues, and ARD facilitation as required. Provide consultation services to teachers, parents, other support personnel, and community agencies.
Master’s Degree in Special Education or related specialization
Educational Diagnostician Certification by the Texas Education Agency
Knowledge of psycho-educational assessment and IDEA eligibility determination procedures
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Federal and State requirements of IDEA, including IEP process, paperwork, and requirements
Proficient in use of computer based programs to write reports, interpret data, and organize paperwork
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); coordinate campus support functions; maintain emotional
control under stress
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Occasional district-wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; occasional lifting up to 35 lbs.
