Kids' Club Lead Assistant
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL Care Program in Elementary Schools


Job Summary:  The position involves working directly with elementary school-age students in a structured before and after school setting. The position reports directly to the classroom Head Teacher and is responsible for assisting the Head Teacher with planning, interacting with and supervision of the students, developing positive relationships with families and colleagues, assisting with parent communication and taking the lead position in the Head Teacher’s absence.  Ongoing professional development is provided and required.

Location:            Various sites
                            Kindergarten – Fifth grade

Hours:                 Monday through Friday
                             7:00-9:00 a.m. and 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. (split shift) Afternoon time may be earlier.

Hourly Rate:        Lead Assistant Salary $12.40/hour

Benefit:                Paid sick time

Start Date:           2020-21 School Year 
                             August 31, 2020

Qualifications:
                        ~ Minimum of 60 semester hours of college credits with 12 in education or a related field.
                           Some flexibility for staff in a program working towards this requirement.
                        ~ Experience working with elementary children in a professional setting preferred.
                        ~ Must be at least 19 years of age and have a desire to work with children.

Duties and Responsibilities:
                        ~ Ability to supervise children and assist with operation of a before and after
                                school program.
                        ~ Ability to follow directions and be flexible.
                        ~ Assist with classroom maintenance.
                        ~ Follow and enforce Michigan DHS Licensing Rules.
                        ~ Ability to communicate with families.
                        ~ Perform other duties as assigned by Head Teacher.
