TitleTechnology Information Specialist


Primary Function:         

  • Maintain the school and district’s technology infrastructure, its reliability and effective use.  
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate technology infrastructure needs in order to keep the district abreast of current technological trends. 
  • Maintain district equipment
AccountabilitySchool level administrators/District office administrators

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related field  
  • Microsoft certification (server, desktop, etc)    
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong knowledge and experience of current technology infrastructure trends (e.g. virtualization, outsourcing, disaster recovery, etc.)
  • Experience managing mixed operating system (e.g. Google ChromeOS, Windows, Apple OS, iOS, Linux) environments and hardware
  • Experience with office productivity tools (e.g. OpenOffice, GoogleApps, Office 365, etc.)
  • A minimum of three years of  experience working in the field of technology
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Remain current in the field of technology
  • Represent the technology interests in Berwyn North School district 98 at local, state and regional technology meetings
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the District Technology Plan
  • Maintain district technology contracts and license agreements relating to district equipment
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual “Appraisal Report” for the Chief School Business Official
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory of all technology equipment
  • Assist with the development of RFP’s for annual E-rate submission
  • Assist staff with minor technology repairs
  • Coordinate the maintenance and service of all district hardware: perform periodic and preventative maintenance, including minor repairs on technology equipment and procure contracted technology support service as needed
  • Assist in the selection, purchase, inventory, distribution and redistribution of technology hardware.  Assist with the technology purchasing system so all hardware/software is compatible with current system
  • Supervise the installation of upgrades on all technology equipment.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to prepare reports in various styles and formats
  • Ability to operate office machines and personal computers and other technology related devices and their related software
  • Ability to compute, ratio and percent, and interpret graphs
  • Experience working in an office environment
