Description

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining pay records for new hires, pay changes, terminations, leave of absences and assisting with the daily operations of payroll processing.  Responsible for TRS reporting and submissions for the state while ensuring organizational compliance with federal and local regulations. 

Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field (preferred)
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of payroll accounting procedures
Ability to maintain accurate and audible records
Skills to use standard office equipment including use of computer applications to create spreadsheets, databases, and perform word processing
Ability to perform highly accurate calculations and detailed data entry
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
 
Experince:
Three years of payroll accounting experience in public schools.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress
