Spanish Immersion Teacher Elementary

Southern Lehigh School District is seeking applicants to fill an anticipated full-time, contracted opening as an Elementary Spanish Immersion Teacher.
The candidate must be bilingual and have excellent English and Spanish literacy skills. The Southern Lehigh Spanish Immersion program is a unique total language immersion experience. The goal of the program is to allow students to develop foreign language proficiency in the nation’s second most common language, Spanish. The Spanish Immersion program spans from grades 1-12. Students experience a total immersion program in grades 1-5 and are taught all core elementary subjects in Spanish.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and appropriate PDE teaching certification in Elementary Education K-6. Certification in Spanish K-12 a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of teaching pedagogy. Collaborative working style and strong work ethic. Duties include teaching students in an elementary setting. Must be knowledgeable of state standards and elementary curriculum and instruction. Must be highly motivated and possess strong instructional talents and effective classroom management practices. Must exhibit the personal characteristics that will promote student success in a supportive positive school climate. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational and demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents. Experience teaching in a technology rich, 1:1 school environment preferred and/or expertise in integrating technology in teaching and learning.
