The Needham Public Schools seeks applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences for the position of 0.1 FTE Elementary Wellness Teacher (Health & Physical Education).
The successful candidate will be expected to: Plan and execute quality physical education lessons using a skills theme approach to students in kindergarten; Work within a team of elementary wellness educators to develop and evaluate programs, curriculum, assessments teaching methods, etc.; Promote the value of physical education and wellness throughout the school and community; Work with other teachers to integrate curriculum and develop creative programming; Work with professionals from other disciplines (e.g., counseling, health services, food services, community organizations, etc.) to enhance curriculum and create programming; and, work to help to create additional wellness programming as identified by individual school needs.
- Looking for candidates who have a strong understanding of wellness and can integrate wellness concepts into their lessons
- Looking for candidates who can teach physical education using a skills-theme curriculum model
- Master's degree is preferred
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary License as a K-8 or K-12 Physical Education Teacher
